Leslie Gordon Black is commemorated on a marble tablet in St. Mary with St. Philip and St. James Church, South Woodford. A record of this memorial was produced for the War Memorials Register in 2001 that stated the memorial had originally featured a cap badge of the Royal Naval Voluntary Regiment. The inscription to Leslie Black is depicted in gold.

The original church of St. Mary’s was irreparably destroyed in a fire in February 1969 but was rebuilt and rededicated in June 1972. This marble tablet would have been salvaged from the old building to be displayed in the new church.
